Review: Copper Door Tavern on Dec 6, 2012

Copper Door Tavern, smack in midst of 3rd Ave madness in Gramercy (at 21st Street), is a great find.  It's a comfortable sports bar that is a bit more dive than sports.  Sure, they had a big screen showing 'the game', but it wasn't hard to totally ignore it.
Watch 'the game' on the big screen!
The bar was packed to the gills in the front when we arrived at 6pm, but it wasn't a problem because they had conveniently reserved the entire back area for us, which was more space than we needed for our group of 12-15!

Fabulous space in the back...
...that they reserved for us!
My major goal for picking the bar was finding a friendly, welcoming staff, and that was certainly accomplished.  Our waitress took care of us very well and she was super nice, even when she was swamped.

The specials were also solid, til 8pm:
$3 drafts
$4 PBR tall boys
$5 margaritas & martinis
Plus, they had a variety of beers to choose from, more than just Coor light. They also have great bar food- I barely remember the nachos we ate them so quickly.

And, if you're not interested in 'the game', or your friends, you can always play Big Buck Hunter!
lookin for the bathroom?
I would certainly go back to Copper Door Tavern for another round, or if I had a game to watch!

(There were also lots of Santas at this festive Happy hour gathering!)

  1. I'm going to have to do my best not to look like this in this month's photos.
