Key Bar is a GREAT find. Kind of a small, but open-feeling spot on 13th St between 1st & Ave A in the East village, a huge draw for this spot is it's AMAZING happy hour deals: 2 for 1 until 10:00pm. That's right, 10:00pm. And, if you can't drink two, you can bring the token back another time!!
The space at Key Bar is cozy, but well organized, with seating on either side at the windows, plus there's a secret couch area in the back if you're looking for some privacy.

We had a grand old time that night- celebrating not one, but TWO birthdays in our crowd! If it's your birthday (and you have to show ID), the bar will pass out a FREE round of shots for you AND your friends. And we had at least 20 people, because we ordered 20 shots.

There's no food served, but like many no-food bars, you can order in or BYO. So, thanks to seamlessweb, I discovered Mamani's $8 pizza, and ordered several pies in appreciation of folks coming out in the rain. Also a smart move, given the 2 for 1 specials and the shots!

The scene was pretty chill for happy hour, and definitely started picking up as the night progressed. Was a pretty happening spot, and a great way to meet new people.

Overall, a good find and a fun spot, especially for birthday parties and cheap specials! Would definitely go back.
