Happy Hour in NYC- really a happy evening

Every month I pick a date and a bar and tell my friends to bring their friends and drink for cheap. Since May 2007 I've been finding different bars with happy hour lasting til at least 8pm. I prefer to find naturally existing specials, so if you're out & about you know where to go! My inspiration is twofold- to discover new bars throughout the city, and to bring fabulous people together. It's much more than a happy hour, it's a happy evening.

Review: 11th St Bar on Nov 18

11th St Bar was a wonderful find (thanks Laura, for the suggestion!). It is cozy, comfortable, and feels familiar even when it's your first time. There are all sorts of spaces for your needs- a bar area, a room to the side, and a large space in the back.

The specials are right on and easy to remember- $2 EVERYTHING until 9:00pm. PLUS, on Fridays they have free chicken wings and chips and salsa at 6:00pm!!! Huge surprise bonus!

The bartender was great- remembered my name and my drink! And the owner even picked up the tab for a couple shots. :) Plus he set aside some tables for me, and was a champ to coordinate with.

We had a fun crowd that night....a solid group from 6pm onwards, and a new crowd around 8:30pm or so!
