Idle Hands Bar is AWESOME. First of all, their slogan is bourbon, beer, rock. How can you really go wrong with all that? They have a seemingly endless menu of bourbons and whiskeys of varying degrees of quality. One whiskey is apparently $55/glass!

Their happy hour special is amazing- two for one until 8:00pm on weekdays, and until 9:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays! (Only for items under $10.)

Idle Hands is a BASEMENT bar, located underneath a place called billy hurricanes- a venue that looks like the complete opposite of idle hands, so don't get confused. Idle Hands is just a few streets north of Houston, so it's not overwhelmingly east-villagey.

In addition to the bourbon and whiskey selection, Idle Hands offers a decent beer selection, and the bartender may even suggest a random cocktail, like the Pink Panty Pulldown, which I sampled!

The crowd at the bar was all over the place- we took over the bar area, and were pretty much the only people there for a while. At one point someone's rained-out roof party took advantage of one dark corner. There were other people that seemed to be regulars. Then in the middle of the evening some local softball/kickballers came in and STANK the bar up! Fortunately they only stayed for one round, and the bartender mentioned they were not regulars!!!!

The bartender was awesome as well, and even gave me a couple shots of whiskey that weren't awful!

No food served, but we ordered from Kate's for veggie junk food, and they have menus available if you ask for them.
Overall, a great pick for happy hour, and I will certainly be going back.
